Holi, Festival of colours is celebrated with exuberant, zeal and enthusiasm. People light a bonfire in the evening and perform ritual Pooja with prayers. This day is also known as “Holika Dahan”. Women gather and perform elegant dance and sing folk songs. The following day people play with Gulal (Abeer) and vivid colours, water balloons, water gun also known as pichkari. Be it children or grown-up everyone is drenched and swamped with the festival of colours.

Over the years, this festival has gained popularity in other parts of Asian countries as well.

Puran Poli is a sweet stuffed kind of paratha made with chana dal and jaggery. It is generally served with ghee and milk. For Maharashtrian people, Holi is incomplete without Puran Poli.
Laddus, Gulab Jamun, Pani Puri, Kachori, Dahi Bhalle, Pakora, various types of Chats, and a lot more can be included during this festival and is everyone’s all-time favourite cuisines.
